Hey yeah I agree with renu i have to tell you guys some things that meiting said today too!
i cant really recall everything, but I just think we should all know that
-Meiting says that the thing about mr chu is that he has confidence. He’s so good in that area that whatever he says the school admin are impressed and convinced. No tom dick or harry could do that.
-meiting is “very,very” sure that he is a “nice guy”. He’s just someone who doesn’t do things systematically, he just is in a “constant thought process”. So he comes up with a lot of ideas, all at once and his brain is so full of them that he sometimes just cant organize them and he unloads them all at once and sometimes seems to contradict a lot.
-We cant blame him for pushing us so hard for all these changes and all, because we have to remember that that is what he was brought into the school for. It’s his job his obligation. He has to answer to his bosses too.
-Sometimes you just have to learn to tune out what he says. He insults the board a lot because he has zero tact, but meiting says that MOS has learnt that his intentions really don’t go with the words. Like when he told Sophia to “shut up” [I was so uber pissed at him for that] he didn’t mean it. He just doesn’t intend it to be mean. So we have to know when to tune him out and not take what he says so personally. Sometimes he makes threats, like “oh if you do not join congress you are not a good prefect”. Meiting says he makes threats all the time, don’t take them too seriously, but at the same time they are valid points. If ms tay had brought them up we would all have agreed, it’s just that mr chu uses all the wrong words and the wrong tone. But they do make sense.
-MOS always act quite friendly around him because firstly they know that he’s a nice guy and secondly that they cant beat him, so they might as well join him. Like aj said on her blog, we’re already in it we cant turn back. We just have to beat the system. Meitings says although we should learn to tune out when hes talking cos he tends to insult the board a lot, we should pay a bit of attention and catch all his loopholes. Cos mr chu is very, very open. And he will listen to you if you have a strong argument and if you say it in simple enough terms XD. And he is more likely to listen to you if he likes you and values you, therefore MOS has been very patient and tolerant around him.
-About elections…MOS has been standing by their July-elections thing, and they had this meeting with mr chu and they were getting nowhere but in the last ten minutes, when they repeated their point for the 100th time he suddenly went “hmm, that’s a very good point”. So hes now considering it. So all is not lost, he does listen. =] just to give everyone some hope when we have to start working with him.
-And btw, ms tay and mr chu get on really, really well. We all have our theories on their relationship I know but according to meiting they both listen to each other and they work really closely. And it may seem that ms tay is gradually beginning to give in to all the changes mr chu has proposed, but the fact is that these changes are only presented to us because ms tay supports them in the first place. And no matter what, we should trust ms tay. We all have a lot of trust in her I know, so lets just have faith that she really does have all our best interests at heart and she will know what to do. And lets have faith that whatever she supports will be good for us =] okay?
-Another thing: we are under pressure now because the people right at the top are facing a lot of pressure. Mrs chew has a reason for suddenly popping out of nowhere and pushing all these changes, so lets not be too pissed at her okay? Yeah. See you guys around, and just wanted to let you know that meiting said that she has no doubt that our batch will rise to the challenge, Fianza has full confidence in us, and shes glad that this happened in our year because fiel is very very bonded. =]
